The Blackberry Farm Foundation aims to provide financial support to our local community, focusing on children and sustainable foodways.
Proceeds for the foundation are primarily raised through special events hosted at Blackberry Farm. While immersed in the renowned Blackberry hospitality during concerts, food and wine events, private dinners, and other unique experiences like auctions for rare bottles of wine, guests graciously help us in giving back to the community. Blackberry is faithful to helping the community, and this dedication has been shown time and time again! For example, the foundation donated $174,000 in 2022, adding to the over $2 million donated in the last decade. Numerous accredited organizations receive these donations each year.

The program seeks to provide the same once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunities that our late proprietor, Sam Beall, had during his hospitality journey. Through events like Passing the Torch, Blackberry earns funds to provide life-changing experiences to our fellows. So far, six young hospitalitarians have been granted the opportunity to learn outstanding culinary and hospitality from distinguished restaurants around the world.

Upholding this principle is why the Farm and Mountain dedicate over half of the property to preservation and prioritize generational sustainability to protect the natural landscape of the Great Smoky Mountains. Blackberry has integrated these sustainability efforts in various ways, from minimizing waste through compost and recycling to providing guests with reusable PathWater and YETI water bottles to reduce plastic waste. Likewise, the Farm’s on-property gardening and foraging create a farm-to-table dining experience to support sustainable agriculture. At the forefront of innovation and preservation, Blackberry has taken great strides in ensuring the conservation of the beautiful East Tennessee land, and we strive to always improve our conservation efforts.
Blackberry is run by a tenured senior leadership team of executives and a strong and diverse management team of artisans, chefs, designers, corporate support and hospitality experts. Together, Proprietor Mary Celeste Beall, President Matt Alexander and the Blackberry team continue the family's tradition of hospitality, service and providing unimaginable opportunities and memories for each guest.
